facts about our services
In America alone, we have thousands and thousands of homeless. When you hear of this, what do you do? Do you think about how grateful you should be that it isn't you? Do you judge them? Do you try to help? Are you proactive?
Homelessness need not be a way of life for any human or animal. CrittersWork Service Dog Partners grew out of my own love of dogs especially, we also run a nonprofit rescue GreenePets Foster Network, and I am a professional trainer at our kennel, All Creatures Country Club.
All of this is tied together for us. Our kennels where we also serve homeless dogs for GreenePets and other rescues. Finding special homeless dogs who have the temperament to serve people as service dogs, training them, and finding that veteran that they are waiting to partner with to change two lives.
All of this takes volunteers, and volunteerism in many aspects of the program. We have recently partnered with AmeriCorps and can accept their volunteers through our program:
Making Veterans Priority / CrittersWork Service Dog Partners, Inc.
Still, we need you! We need volunteer staff desperately in all aspects of our program. We currently have two volunteers who are learning dog training so they can go forth and serve veterans and other people who need support from a service dog.
This program is exciting, exhausting, and very satisfying all rolled up into one big roller coaster emotion for all of us. We are frustrated daily because we can't find enough volunteers to help us. Until we get them, the number of dogs trained and in service is very limited. It doesn't need to be this way.
Today, I am asking, crying for help, and begging for anyone who loves dogs and people, or even just dogs, please step forward and help us. We promise to appreciate even a one hour a week commitment to our cause.
Give us a call, as I said, all aspects of running this organization need addressed. We are big in heart, but woefully under volunteered.
Thank you,
