Job Description:
This position will report to the Grant Specialist++++, and work in collaboration with both the CEO and the Executive Director. This position requires previous development experience, exceptional writing and organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills to work with Foundations and Program Staff. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to multi-task, set priorities, take initiative and work independently as well as a part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Foundation and Grants Management. Oversee all aspects of foundation fundraising, including the identification of funding opportunities; formulation, preparation, submission and tracking of grant request. Work with Program staff on their funding options to guide them when necessary. Write and submit grant proposals to generate income, develop and maintain relationships with funders; oversee the evaluation process to ensure compliance with funder's requirements Proficient in communications (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to write grants from concept, LOI, to proposal.

- Position includes the direct solicitation of government, public and private grants and maintain an accurate Grants Calendar, scheduling and tracking.
- Work in conjunction with Database Administrator to ensure that corporate and foundation gifts are logged on Raiser's Edge and to manage and service all corporate donors and prospects.
- Ensure that all foundation reports are timely and accurate and manage internal foundation processes and policies.
- Establish and manage ongoing and direct relationship with each foundation and individual there responsible for grant making.
- Assist Grants Specialist, help manage calendar.
- Provide editorial assistance as needed for internal and external agency documents and publications.
- Various writing and other assignments in support of the CEO and Grants Specialist as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years experience as part of a nonprofit development team, in a fundraising capacity with grant writing and fundraising experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proven initiative and ability to multi-task and set priorities
- Ability to perform under deadlines and changing schedules
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Strong computer skills, PC proficient preferred. Microsoft Suite, Excel, G-mail calendar & drive.
